Craig Johnson, LS, CFedS

Client Service Manager, Survey

As is the case of most surveyors, Craig wanted to put his love for outdoors to good use. For him this meant pursuing surveying and working outside in nature. He takes pride in the rich history of the surveying profession and the necessary services provided to help turn clients’ visions into reality.

Craig started his 40-year surveying career in 1978. Over the years he has worked on hundreds of municipal, transportation, subdivision platting, railroad, oil exploration, building layout, topographic surveys and section corner remonumentation projects.

This expertise includes 20 years as a field crew chief, 5 years as a CAD technician, 5 years as a survey crew manager, and 10 years as a survey department manager. Craig utilizes this wealth of knowledge accumulated over the years in his role as Client Service Manager for the Survey Division at Sambatek. He provides expert consultation to clients regarding all aspects of surveying.

While outside of work, Craig enjoys building furniture in his woodshop for himself and family. He also enjoys hiking Arizona desert trails in January.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Professional Land Surveyor – MN #44530
  • Certified Federal Surveyor #1182
  • Diploma in Civil & Surveying Technology, Albuquerque Technical College
  • BES Geography-St. Cloud State University

I enjoy using my surveying knowledge and experience to help our clients achieve their goals. I also enjoy mentoring our staff here at Sambatek; my philosophy is to pass on what I’ve learned to make the entire team stronger."
