Director of Municipal Services

John serves the community. Whether as an Air Force Officer, a Public Works Director/City Engineer, an Environmental Coordinator, and now as an Engineering Consultant, he has always had the desire to benefit the people and communities where he lives and works.

He began his career as a Civil Engineering Officer in the US Air Force after graduating from Marquette University with a degree in Civil Engineering. After six years in the Air Force, John left Active Duty (transferred to the Air National Guard) and worked for the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation and the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities.  In 2004, he returned to Minnesota (where he grew up) and went to work for a consulting firm completing land development projects in both the commercial and residential markets.

From 2008 to 2016, John served the City of Mendota Heights as their Public Works Director/City Engineer. While at the City of Mendota Heights, John retired from the Air National Guard after 22 years of total service, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 2016, he returned to the consultant engineering world as a division director for municipal services. He uses this vast array of expertise in his role at Sambatek.

John enjoys a variety of activities from going to concerts and theater, playing poker, exploring the outdoors and lakes, cooking and eating good food, all while raising his teenage daughter.
