MSP International Airport Runway 17-35 Aerial and Property Rights Acquisition

Sambatek staff surveyors, led by Keith Dahl, LS, provided survey services in support of the construction and operation of the 8,000-foot Runway 17-35 at MSP International Airport. Services provided included comprehensive boundary and topographic surveys for the acquisition of properties in the cities of Minneapolis and Bloomington located within and under the FAA Part 77 Runway Protection Zone and State Airspace Safety Zones A and B. Additionally, three-dimensional surveys and legal descriptions were provided to obtain avigation (aerial navigation) rights for the federally and state-mandated air spaces needed for operation of the runway. Sambatek staff also prepared graphic exhibits and legal descriptions for inclusion in the MSP International Airport Amended Zoning Ordinance, which was updated to reflect requirements for operation of Runway 17-35.
