Plaza 66 consists of an 11,000 SF retail redevelopment of residentially zoned properties along the active Richfield Parkway corridor consistent with the City of Richfield’s vision for redevelopment of select arterial corridors to commercially oriented development. The project includes four-sided architecture with a varied height, footprint, and building materials to stimulate visual interest. The project team engaged the City of Richfield to create a pedestrian plaza along East 66th Street and solicited input from the adjacent residential neighborhood to identify solutions for screening and buffering along the south property line, along with addressing cut-through traffic on 16th Avenue South. This collaborative approach created a win-win-win redevelopment opportunity for the City, the neighborhood, and the developer.

Sambatek provided site design, stormwater management, surveying, and landscape architecture services for the redevelopment.

The project received an MSCA STARR Award in 2018.
