Washington County, in partnership with the City of Stillwater, recently completed an infrastructure upgrade along County Highway 5 (Stonebridge Trail). Spanning 0.7 miles between Sycamore Street and County Highway 96, this project focused on replacing the aging bridge over Brown’s Creek, reconstructing the roadway and trail, and enhancing pedestrian accessibility throughout the corridor.

Location: County Highway 5 (Stonebridge Trail), between Sycamore Street and County Highway 96, City of Stillwater, Washington County, MN. The project corridor spans 0.7 miles and includes the bridge over Brown’s Creek.
A Smarter, Safer Corridor: The project aimed to deliver three key outcomes:
- Replace the Brown’s Creek bridge to ensure long-term structural integrity and accessibility.
- Rehabilitate roadway and trail surfaces to improve safety and user experience.
- Evaluate and enhance pedestrian facilities for better connectivity and ADA compliance.
