Engineers Week | Designing with Purpose: Becca Malik

Becca Malik was inspired to pursue engineering after watching her older sister navigate the profession, showing her that a career built on problem-solving and real-world impact was possible. Today, her favorite part of engineering is seeing designs move from paper into places that serve communities for years to come.

At Sambatek, Becca is proud of the growth she has experienced while working through increasingly complex projects. With mentorship and collaboration from her team, she has gained confidence in navigating site requirements and understanding the purpose behind each design decision.

In recognition of Engineers Week, Becca encourages future engineers to ask questions often and not feel discouraged by how much there is to learn. Engineering is a career built on continuous growth.

She believes engineering makes a difference through the infrastructure people depend on every day, where even small decisions can have lasting community impact.
