Minnetonka, MN – Sambatek is pleased to announce the addition of Ed Boytim as Senior Project Designer for the Minnesota Public Group. Ed brings 38 years of experience with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Metro District, with extensive expertise in roadway design, final design, plan production, and transportation infrastructure.
Most recently, Ed served as a Project Designer/Squad Leader in Final Design as a Senior Engineering Specialist. Throughout his career, Ed has contributed to numerous major roadway projects and brings extensive knowledge of designing and delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
Ed’s project experience includes the I-35W reconstruction and unbonded overlay from the South Split to the Minnesota River Bridge; the TH 55 Hiawatha/Lake Interchange reconstruction; utility coordination for the TH 35W/Lake Street project; the TH 5 Airport overlay and reconstruction completed during the COVID-19 pandemic; the TH 94 horizontal drainage solution addressing retaining wall seepage along I-94 near Franklin Avenue; the TH 8 Lindstrom Split Pair project; the Glenn Road section of the TH 61 Wakota project; and safety improvements along TH 50. He also has experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD), including plan production and 3D design workflows.

As Senior Project Designer, Ed will support the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation projects within Sambatek’s Public Group. He is excited to join the team and looks forward to helping deliver quality roadway construction projects while sharing his extensive industry experience with Sambatek’s project teams.
