President & CEO of Sambatek Recognized with President’s Award for Years of Community Leadership
As he prepares to conclude his role as Chairman of the Engineering Education Foundation of America (EEFA), Sirish Samba, P.E. (Professional Engineer), reflects on three years of dedicated service to the foundation he helped bring to life. Founded to advance educational and charitable efforts within the engineering community, EEFA was created as a 501(c)(3) arm of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN).
Since its inception, Sirish has been at the helm, helping shape EEFA’s vision, strategy, and mission to support the next generation of engineers through scholarships, outreach, and education-focused programming. His leadership laid the groundwork for a foundation ready to have a lasting impact throughout Minnesota and beyond.

In recognition of his relentless commitment, Sirish was recently honored with the President’s Award by EEFA. This award is a meaningful tribute to his contributions as a founding board member and champion of community-focused leadership.
“Serving as Chairman of EEFA has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career,” said Samba. “This foundation was built on the belief that by investing in education and access, we invest in a better future for our industry and communities. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside passionate peers and proud of all we’ve accomplished together.”
Sirish’s passion for service extends beyond EEFA. Since joining Sambatek in 1994 as an Engineer-in-Training, he has led with vision and heart, becoming President and CEO in 2009 and guiding the firm to national recognition in civil engineering, planning, environmental, and surveying services.
As EEFA moves into its next leadership chapter, Sirish’s legacy as founding Chairman confirms what’s possible when technical excellence is paired with a deep commitment to giving back.
