Finance & Commerce Top Projects of 2020 Awards event is this week with three Sambatek projects honored, including Lexington Landing, located in St. Paul, MN; Child Adolescent Behavioral Health Services Hospital, located in Willmar, MN; and Hennepin County: Behavioral Health & Wellness Clinic, located in Minneapolis, MN. We are so proud to have been a part of these award-winning projects and teams.
According to Finance & Commerce, “From among (an) impressive collection of projects, an independent panel selected 50 honorees for (this year’s) Top Projects awards.” When selecting the projects, the panel of judges look at the degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management and sustainability efforts.
The first Top Projects winner is Lexington Landing Senior Living. Managed by J.A. Wedum Foundation and developed by Essential Decisions, Inc. (EDI), Lexington Landing is a five-story senior community offering 97 senior apartments, 36 assisted living apartments and 21 memory care apartments, with underground heated parking available. Housing choices include a variety of studio, one- and two- bedroom apartments.
Sambatek provided civil engineering, survey, stormwater management, and landscape architecture for this unique project.
The second Top Projects winner is the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Services Hospital – the only state-owned and -operated facility of its type in Minnesota. The hospital is designed for Minnesota children 4 to 18 years of age who have complex mental illness and behavioral disorders that are so severe the children cannot be treated in their home communities. Construction of the $10 million, 18,000-square-foot facility, located on a nine-acre parcel with three wings and 16 private patient rooms, each with its own bathroom.

The third Top Projects winner is the Behavioral Health & Wellness Clinic which leverages the resources and expertise of county and community providers at one location with the potential to operate 24/7, 365 days a year. The renovation has resulted in space that offers support services in a dignified manner within a comfortable, calming setting. Sambatek provided civil engineering and survey with field coordination for this project.
