Since 1987, Sambatek has provided environmental engineering services to GNP Company (Gold’n Plump), the largest fully integrated producer of fresh chicken products in the upper Midwest. We recently provided the process design for tertiary treatment using membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology to upgrade the existing wastewater treatment facility and provide opportunities for water reuse. GNP has received various awards for this innovative plant.
The following projects have been completed by Sambatek for the Gold’n Plump Poultry:
- 2.1 MGD, complete Biological Nutrient Removal Poultry Wastewater Plant in MN.
- Ongoing permit compliance and operations assistance.
- Provides 5 log removal of pathogens/viruses – Reuse for bird washing.
- Central States Water Environment Federation Award Winner.
- Worked with the Minnesota Department of Health and USDA on a pilot reuse project to provide 12 log removals to meet potable water requirements.
