Midas Station is a $28 million-dollar development including a 107-room Home2 Suites and 100-room Hampton Inn located at 9470 W. Broadway in Brooklyn Park, MN. Future development includes 3 retail buildings to complete the 7-acre site. The site is across from Target’s Corporate North Campus and adjacent to CSM Corporation’s 610 Commerce Center business park. The Hampton Inn was completed in September 2018 and the Home 2 Suites was completed in January 2019.
Development in the area is growing along the corridor of the future Blue Line Light Rail extension, which will run from downtown Minneapolis to Brooklyn Park. Midas Station is just north of a future LRT station at West Broadway and 93rd Avenue N.
The hotels are on a site with cross access and shared parking agreements to reduce the parking lot size and impervious surfaces/runoff. Sambatek designed the site and an underground stormwater management system along with an infiltration basin to capture and temporarily store stormwater before allowing it to infiltrate into the soil. These green infrastructure systems are designed to mimic a site’s natural hydrology.
